Rare Scale Model Of Defender
Sold
An incredibly rare, one off scaled model of a Land Rover Defender, in gunmetal paint finish.
This was used as a promotional car by Land Rover and Jaguar at the Wimbledon tennis championships, where the car was controlled remotely and delivered the balls onto the court in the opening ceremony.
The Defender has all its engine and electrical components but is missing its battery.
Being sold as a decorative item and is untested.
The steering wheel and dial were removed by Land Rover as they contained a patented design that the company did not want exposed.
An alternative steering wheel from a pedal car could be sourced, and dials from an original Defender would fit into the dash.
After the popularity of the premier of this model, Land Rover and Jaguar released a limited kit form at a price of £3500, but it was much smaller than this example which is the only one in existence.
