Rare HMV Advertising Nipper

An incredibly rare, period piece of HMV advertising.
A large, oversize papier-mâché head of Nipper.
This was acquired from a private collector, it would have originally been displayed in a shop window forming part of an advertising display for His Masters Voice.
Very few of these were made.
Constructed from papier-mache, hand painted and retaining its original glass eyes.
The head is at a slight tilt, indicative of the original image of Nipper the dog from the late 19thc.
In remarkably good condition for its age though as the photo shows there are areas of wear and age related damage.
The inside is smooth finished papier-mâché mixed with horse hair, in keeping with the methods used in the late 19thc/early 1900s.
