Of impressive scale, a large country house half length seated portrait.
The gentleman is wearing academic dress, collar and bands, holding his square cap (tam).
The painting is in excellent condition with minimal age related wear.
The gold gilded gesso frame is of high quality and displays very well.
Please note there is some minor damage to the bottom of the frame.
Salvaged directly from the country estate.
