A large collection of Rodney Smiths design work of mid century furniture.
Hundreds of images and designs, with too many to photograph.
Rodney Smiths name was highly regarded, he was commissioned by all the big names of the time such as Herman Miller, G Plan, George Nelson, Arne Jacobsen, to name but a few.
In this collection are his notebooks and beautifully drawn sketch books showing detailed drawings of chair construction from the beginning to the end product.
His hand written journals explain the process of design, different wood types, upholstery methods, springs and strappings etc.
