English artist Frederick Thomas Daws (1878-1956) was a prolific artist commissioned by the wealthy for his reputation as the best canine artist of the early 20thc.

This painting is part of an amazing collection of dog portraits (others available on the website) which were acquired directly from his family estate.

The unseen collection of his work dating from 1910-1930s.

Frederick was a British artist who painted many prized dogs of well known dog fanciers.

In 1930 he became the main artist at the Royal Doulton works for their champion dog models.

Some of the examples in this collection are early proofs of his work which have never come to market before.

Frederick died in 1956.
