Attributed to Gillows & Co, a late 19thc silk chair on an ebonised and gilded frame.
In the Aesthetic Movement style.
An unusual example as the chair is uncharacteristically wide, accommodating the more rotund person of the period.
The chair is incredibly decorative and comfortable, with its original purple silk horse hair and webbing.
