Large Bank Of Georgian Drawers
£1850
A monumental bank of Georgian drawers at just under 8 ft long.
Originally from an ironmongers in Seaton, Devon ‘ Frank Ankermans Ironmongery’ which opened in 1811 and traded for 211 years, closing in April 2022.
These drawers were salvaged directly from the old hardware store, which became infamous in the local area.
In the late 19thc they combined the ironmongery, becoming a joint cycle agent, selling penny farthings and bicycle spares and parts.
Some drawers retain the companies logo and information on the back, as shown in the photo.
The drawers are in excellent condition with dovetailed joints, no worm, rot or damage and retaining their original backboards and hardwood knobs.
The original paper labels most likely date from the 1920s and have some great wording and descriptions.
The drawers are in excellent condition, of a good size and are very useable.
Can be free standing or wall mounted.
